You may have heard through the grapevine that we hold the catering contract for the Centre for National Resilience (Howard Springs Quarantine Facility).
This has been a mammoth task; preparing up to 28,000 FOOD ITEMS, plus up to 700 staff meals PER DAY!
Regretfully, we’ve had some tough decisions to make. We have decided to take a small break from our usual function and event catering, and focus all of our energy on delivering a world-class service to the Quarantine Facility.
Of course, we will always remain true to our Vision, Mission and our Indigenous Employment focus. We are committed to:
Showcasing local produce at the Quarantine facility and partnering with Territory food businesses at every available opportunity;
Providing specific employment and career capacity building opportunities for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff through our best practice supportive, nurturing work environments;
Providing on and off-the-job mentoring in partnership with Saltbush Social Enterprises;
Delivering an ever-expanding scope of professional development opportunities through our training division, Karen Sheldon Training - RTO: 70045;
Continuing to develop our vision to expand the provision of healthy nutritious meal options, including allied training to Indigenous communities through the production of our ready-made meals supplied through ALPA; and
Serving delicious food at our flagship café, Speakers Corner Cafe at Parliament House;
Honouring our standing catering commitments to existing clients.
Karen Sheldon Catering is dedicated to maintaining Howard Springs as a gold standard for quarantine accommodation across Australia and doing our part to keep the NT safe.
We appreciate all of our valuable clients’ business over the years and want to sincerely thank you all for your ongoing support.
See you in 2022!
